Highlight Cases & Legal Matters

Banking & Finance

With an aggregate transaction value exceeding IDR 100 billion across corporate business and retail and consumer segments, our banking practice provides dispute resolution and advisory services across Jakarta, Makassar, and Kendari. The team has sustained an unbroken five year track record of favorable dispute resolution outcomes since 2022.

• Advised PT Apollo Asset Management Indonesia, a member of Korea-based Heung Chang Group, in the acquisition of a banking loan portfolio through a cessie transaction, including regulatory liaison with the Land Office, legal due diligence on land titles and security documents, and coordination with the Land Office on land mapping issues and the conversion of Hak Tanggungan registrations into the electronic system.

• Counsel to PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk, a Malaysia-affiliated banking institution, handling dispute resolution, litigation, and post-litigation matters across the East Indonesia region, alongside strategic legal advisory and agreement structuring covering working capital loan facilities, credit restructuring, personal data protection, bank loan portfolio acquisitions, pension credit facilities, implementation of OJK Regulation No. 4 of 2025, Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), and the new Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP). Advisory scope further extends to bancassurance products, credit novation, partial discharge of security rights (Roya Parsial) and the return of collateral to subrogated parties, Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios and interest rate application, asset liquidation processes (including auction announcements, notifications, and engagement of Public Appraiser Service Offices/KJPP), and the implementation of Prudential Banking Principles and other related statutory requirements.

• Successfully represented PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk — Indonesia's largest Islamic bank — in collaboration with Law Office of Dahana & Ridzki ("DNR"), in a sharia economic dispute involving breach of contract arising from Murabahah and Musyarakah Mutanaqisah financing agreements, with a financing value of IDR 4,220,340,773.09. Concurrently led out-of-court recovery efforts, managing a portfolio exceeding 100 debtors across the Jakarta region.

Bankruptcy & Suspension of Payment

• Represented PT Ceria Alam Sentosa, as the PKPU Respondent (Termohon PKPU), involving a claim value of IDR 4,000,000,000.

• Advised PT Garista, an Indonesia-based telecommunication construction company on enforcement strategies through PKPU and bankruptcy proceedings in relation to unpaid project claims.

Capital Market 

Advised PT Panin Asset Management (“PAM”), an Indonesia-based capital markets company and licensed investment manager, in collaboration with DNR, on regulatory compliance concerning investment manager responsibilities toward consumers and consumer protection in the financial services sector.

Corruption and General Crime Matters

• Represented WGM Sp. z o.o., a Poland-based mining company, in collaboration with DNR, filing a police report in connection with alleged document forgery and/or insertion of false information into an authentic deed by the company’s management and shareholders, involving a claim value of USD 5,000,000.

• Assisted an individual client in filing a police report in relation to alleged electronic fraud and embezzlement involving the unauthorized use of the client’s account, including the preparation and issuance of a demand letter.

• Represented the Defendant in a corruption case concerning misappropriation of Special Allocation Funds (Dana Alokasi Khusus) before the Makassar District Court.
